TruSight Cystic Fibrosis Assay Training – Customer Site

The Minnesota Department of Health intends to enter an agreement with Illumina, Inc for the purchase of a 2.5 day course that offers on-site instruction for up to 4 laboratory staff on the TruSight Cystic Fibrosis assay, including hands on training for library preparation, sequencing workflow on the MiSeqDx system, and analysis of results. Trainees will be instructed on best practices and techniques and assay success criteria.

This has been deemed a single source, as the instruments the Newborn Screening Laboratory have are Illumina MiSeqDx sequencers. The assay that will be performed on the MiSeqDX sequencers, the TruSight Cystic Fibrosis Assay, is only provided by Illumina, Inc. No laboratory staff are currently qualified to run the instruments without the training course being offered by Illumina, Inc. Illumina, Inc is the only manufacturer of the TruSight Cystic Fibrosis Assay. They are the only company who provides on-site training for their MiSeqDx sequencers and the TruSight Cystic Fibrosis Assay.
