Sears Lehmann Jr. Wildlife Reserve Wolf Habitat Fence Modifications RFP 2024

SCOPE OF WORK

The Saint Louis Zoo is seeking proposals from qualified fencing companies to make

modifications to the American red wolf habitat fencing at the Saint Louis Zoo Sears Lehmann, Jr.

Wildlife Reserve property located in Villa Ridge, Missouri, as detailed in Attachment 1.

PROJECT DELIVERABLES

Provide itemized costs for each component of this project as follows:

I. Sheet 2 & Sheet 3 – Habitat Connecting Tunnel

a. Two (2) proposed.

b. Provide cost per one (1) tunnel inclusive of all components, as detailed in the

drawings.

c. Provide cost of two (2) tunnels inclusive of all components, as detailed in the

drawings.

II. Sheet 4 – Habitat Divider Fence Dig Barrier

a. Seven (7) proposed.

b. Provide cost per one (1) habitat divider fence 3’ dig barrier, including 3’ fence

fabric along entirety of dividing fence line and 3’ vertical concrete dig barrier

under all gates, as detailed in the drawings.

c. If there are cost savings for constructing two (2) or more habitat divider fence 3’

dig barriers, please outline these costs savings.

III. Sheet 4 – Habitat Divider Fence Overhang

a. Seven (7) proposed.

b. Provide cost per one (1) habitat divider fence 3’ double overhang, with fence

fabric included, as detailed in drawings.

c. Provide cost per one (1) habitat divider fence 3’ double overhang, with no fence

fabric included.

d. If there are costs savings for constructing two (2) or more habitat divider fence 3’

overhangs, with and without fence fabric, outline these cost savings.

IV. Sheet 4 – Habitat Divider Fence Existing Gate Relocation and Vertical Cable-operated

Shift Door Addition

a. Seven (7) proposed.

b. Provide cost per one (1) habitat divider fence existing gate relocation and

vertical cable operated shift door addition, as detailed in the drawings.

c. If there are costs savings for constructing two (2) or more habitat divider fence

existing gate relocations and vertical cable operated shift door additions, outline

these cost savings.

PRE-BID MEETING & SITE INSPECTION

A pre-bid meeting and site inspection will not be held. Video of aspects of the project site will be

made available upon request to answer questions.

PROPOSAL QUESTIONS

All questions must be received by April 24, 2024 for issuing of addendums. All emailed questions

and answers will be shared with all responders. The source of the questions will remain

anonymous. Addendums will be placed on the Zoo website as they become available:

https://stlzoo.org/vendoropportunities. Any oral responses shall be unofficial and not binding on

the Zoo.

BID DATE

Proposals will be accepted on or before 2:00 p.m. CST on May 1, 2024. Only electronic

submissions will be accepted. Please submit the Proposal as a single pdf to the following link.

To ensure ease of submission, consider uploading well ahead of the deadline time. Late

submissions will not be accepted.

Any submitted proposal shall remain valid and subject to acceptance for ninety (90) days after

the proposal due date.

NOTE: Failure to include a completed Supplier Diversity Utilization Statement will result in

participation recorded as NONRESPONSIVE/ DISQUALIFIED at bid opening.
