Bid Attributes
1 INTENDED PURPOSE AND APPLICATION / SCOPE OF WORK
The equipment described in this bid will used to quantify the Carbon and Nitrogen present in food, animal feed, fecal and urine
samples.
2 EVALUATION CRITERIA
The evaluation criteria utilized for this RFP may be based upon, but not limited to the following criteria:
Total cost
Ability to meet or exceed the specifications
Ability to supply desired accessories.
Warranty, reliability, and strength of customer references
Lead time
ISU reserves the right to waive minor differences in the stated specifications, if an offered system is found to be
substantially compliant, and its’ purchase would be in the University’s best interest.
Proposal Process and Ev aluation. The proposal process employed by ISU allows Suppliers latitude in responding
to the needs of ISU. The features and requirements stated Technical Specifications represent ISU’s best assessment
of technical requirements. Suppliers should communicate with ISU to ensure they understand the equipment
requirements of the university.

3 EQUALITY OF EQUIPMENT
University will consider equipment that, in the opinion of University, is equal to or better in performance and quality
than the equipment specified in the Specifications.

4 PROTEIN CHARACTERIZATION SYSTEM
All proposals/quotations are expected to meet or exceed the technical specifications below.

5 TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
At a minimum, the equipment will meet the following:
Ability to measure carbon and nitrogen in samples containing low to moderate or high amounts of
Nitrogen and low to high levels of Carbon
Ability to analyze a macro sample
Ability to analyze liquid and solid samples
Ability to analyze food, animal feed, fecal samples, and urine samples
Describe how your unit meets or exceeds the specifications.

6 ACCESSORIES/OPTIONS
The following accessories/options should be included in the offer:
Compatible 2-stage gas regulators (include regulator options for all appropriate gases)
Compatible analytical balance - approx 0.1mg readability, 120g capacity OR similar
