Three additional metal pipe crossings will be replaced with reinforced concrete pipe in existing location. Temporary turnarounds will be built on each end in order to close the roadway and expedite construction.

Proposals will be opened and read aloud at the 2nd floor Conference room, 240 Constitution

Boulevard, Dallas, Georgia 30132 at 10:00 AM EST. Proposals received after the designated

time will not be considered. The OWNER of the project is the Paulding County Board of

Commissioners. The Engineer/Architect for the project is the Paulding County Department of

Transportation.

The approximate extent and character of the Work is generally described as follows:

The Mud Green Road Culvert Replacement Project consists of installing a three span

aluminum arch culvert in place of existing two barrel 42” corrugated metal pipe

crossing. Three additional metal pipe crossings will be replaced with reinforced

concrete pipe in existing location. Temporary turnarounds will be built on each end in

order to close the roadway and expedite construction.

Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same.

To obtain Bid Documents, submit a written request via email to purchase@paulding.gov stating

your name, company and contact information. The telephone number to the Purchasing

Department is 770-443-7512. All questions about the bid process, plans or specifications must be

submitted in writing to purchase@paulding.gov. Paulding County will not address any question

or clarification regarding specifications or procedures orally or via telephone. Paulding County is

not bound by any oral representations, clarifications, or changes made to the written specification

All Bids must be on the BID PROPOSAL UNIT PRICE FORM furnished with the Plans and

Contract documents. The project has an anticipated start date 45 days after bid opening. The

Completion Date of this project is 12 months from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties

approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the

protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount

payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, in the form of a certified check, cashier’s

check, or cash in an equal amount.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish payment and performance bonds with the

executed Agreement meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents and executed on the

forms attached to the Agreement. The terms and time for payment are set forth in the Agreement.

Requests for payments are due by the FIFTH (5th) of the month for payment by the TWENTIETH

(20th).

Surety and insurance companies must have an AM Best rating of A-6 or greater, be listed in the

Federal Registry of Companies holding Certificates of Authority and Acceptable Sureties on

Federal Bonds, be licensed by the Georgia Insurance Department and the Georgia Secretary of

State to do business in the State of Georgia.

All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the day of the bid opening, but

OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.

Owner reserves the right to award bids in whole, or in part, by the type of work to be performed,

as defined by the plans and specifications for this project.

Each bid must be submitted in a SEALED ENVELOPE, addressed to the OWNER. Each

sealed envelope containing a Bid must be plainly marked on the outside as,

If bid is forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the Bid must be enclosed in a separate

mailing envelope to the attention of the OWNER at the address previously given.

All work performed for this project will be in accordance with Georgia Department of

Transportation Standard Specification for Construction of Roads and Bridges, Current Edition,

attached modifications and special provisions.

The OWNER reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive formalities and re-advertise.
