The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for
Guardrail/SoftStop Repair Highway 239.85 EB 80 Right shoulder.
Contractor will be required to make a site visit to verify materials needed.
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible
bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa
DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not
limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing,
and meeting required time schedule.
One Purchase Order will be issued for this bid and line items will be tied.

I believe the SoftStop Impact Head can be salvaged but will require a new sticker. All new material will be
furnished. Contractor will dispose of all old parts.

2 Furnish all new material, equipment, mobilization, labor and traffic control per TC-421. Will need to let proper
emergency agencies know of said closure. Vendor must use new material and must dispose of all old material.
Contractor will be required to make a site visit. TC-421 to be used with a lane closure no sooner than 9pm and
no later than 6am Monday through Friday morning. No work will be done during any major sporting events.
Vendor must be registered with the Iowa Division of Labor and be listed on the State's list of Traffic Control
Technicians. Vendor to provide certificate of insurance per attached specifications and list the Iowa DOT as
additionally insured.
