Detention Center Medical Services

Iredell County is seeking for proposals to award a single contract to a company to provide on-site medical and mental healthcare services to detainees at the County's Detention Center.

These services are defined as legally required and medically necessary services and shall include dental, prescribing, pharmacy, routine mental health screening and any necessary outpatient and inpatient services by properly licensed and professionally trained personnel. The healthcare services to be provided will be procured must be cost-effective with full reporting and accountability to Iredell County Sheriff's Office, Detention Center and the County's management team.

Medical Clinic areas are housed within the Detention Center and services will be provided to various sections of the Detention Center Facility in a humane and ethical manner with respect to the detainee's right to basic healthcare services.

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office operates the Iredell County Detention Center in service to the whole County. With a max housing capacity of 501 detainees the Jail averages 95% capacity on a regular basis. The current budget for Medical Services is for the full capacity of the facility.
