The National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price purchase order to Lab Products, LLC.
In accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1, the Contractor is the only known responsible source who can provide the services for the requirement listed below.
The purpose of this notice is to inform the public that the NIH, Office of Research Services intends to issue a purchase order to Lab Products, LLC for Zyfone Super Mouse Caging, #75031-GA (100 cs), Super Mouse Filter Tops, #10182ZF (50 cases). The Lab Products patented bio-containment design has unique safety features not found in other cage manufactures products. The ventilated cage system maintains negatively pressurized cages in a controlled environment for housing conditions. It ensures protection between the cages, the animal room, and the animal care staff. Their design provides containment and micro-isolation from cage to cage, cage to room, and room to cage. Through a trademarked system, the cages only exhaust through negative pressure and do not become positive. Other safety features in this patented design include, in the event of a power failure, cages that revert to a static mode preventing possible animal health issues.
There are no resellers of Lab Products’ caging. Other cage manufacturers would have to reverse engineer these proprietary products which would be costly and time consuming and may have the potential to violate patent and trademark laws. Cage purchases must be compatible with existing equipment to ensure animal and human safety.
This notice is not a request for competitive quotes. However, any party that believes it can fulfill the requirement as stated herein may submit a written capability statement with information that clearly supports and demonstrates the ability to satisfy the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed award based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) days after the date of this notice unless the Government determines that another company has the capability to satisfy this requirement.
Responses to this notice must include the Notice ID #SS-NIH-7123867 on the subject line of the email. Please email responses to zetherine.gore@nih.gov no later than 12 p.m. EST on Friday, January 24 , 2025.
