Zero Waste Outreach and Graphic Design Services

The City of Palo Alto is seeking proposals from qualified firms to provide integrated outreach, graphic design, and marketing services (Services) to the City’s Zero Waste Palo Alto (ZWPA).

ZWPA implements a variety of solid waste related programs and offers many services to the residents and businesses in the community including curbside collection of refuse materials, technical services, public education and outreach on topics such as source reduction practices, proper sorting of materials, ordinances and regulations, community events and workshops.

Proposers shall develop integrated outreach campaigns to foster community engagement and empowerment by using Community-Based Social Marketing (CBSM) and behavior change strategies using diverse media platforms. This Request for Proposal (RFP) has been developed to procure Services for a three-year period.

The goals for Zero Waste Palo Alto are to minimize waste generation and maximize recycling and reuse programs to achieve a goal of 95% landfill diversion and 80% reduction in greenhouse gas by 2030, to protect the environment by safely collecting and disposing of household hazardous waste, and to effectively maintain and monitor the City’s closed landfill to meet all regulatory requirements.
