VA Illiana Health Care System (VAIHCS) has a requirement to upgrade the fire protection and emergency notification systems in Buildings 101, 102, 103, 104, and 14. Work includes general construction, alterations, installation of new fire alarm devices and conduit, and necessary removal of existing fire alarm devices and conduit. Ceiling removal and replacement to occur by contractor. Existing ceiling to be returned to existing conditions or better. Provide infection control barriers and fire guard as required.
This project includes demolition of existing fire alarm and notification system and providing new fire alarm and emergency notification systems. Contractor shall Furnish all labor, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, supervision, management, and all other necessary resources required for Project 550-23-102: Upgrade Fire Protection and Emergency Notification- Multiple Buildings (CON) as required by the drawings and specifications.
The Period of Performance is Two Hundred Ten (210) calendar days from the Notice to Proceed (NTP). The NTP shall be issued approximately 10 calendar days after award once required payment and performance bonds and certificate of insurance is provided.
The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on www.SAM.gov. There will be a pre-bid conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package.
Pursuant to Public Law 109-461, this solicitation is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firms. In accordance with VAAR 819.7003(DEVIATION) (b), at the time of submission of bids, and at the time of award of any contract, the offeror must represent to the CO that it is a (1) SDVOSB eligible under VAAR Subpart 819.70; (2) Small business concern under the NAICS code assigned to this acquisition; and (3) Certified SDVOSB listed in the SBA certification database at https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/ (see 13 CFR 128).
The solicitation will be issued on or about December 05, 2025. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from SAM.gov which may be issued to this solicitation. The magnitude of the requirement is between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction; small business $45 Million size standard applies.
