RFI # 1 - We cannot find the two sections of the specifications which are referred to in the index section and in other portions of the specification:
Division 11 Equipment
Division 12 Furnishings
Can you provide assistance in locating these two spec sections?
Answer RFI #1 - For the modular mod, we won t have any Division 11 or 12 specifications as there aren t any furnishings in this part of the project. Also, all the sterilizing equipment will be provided by the modular SPS manufacturer.
For the main hospital SPS, we can send the Division 12 specifications, but we did not include Division 11. Â Although we are using an equipment basis of design for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing service to this equipment, this equipment is to be provided via separate contract between the VA and the SPS equipment (sterilizers, cart wash, medivators, etc.) provider.
The Div 12 specs should be included in the project manual we sent over for the Basement project, we have attached a separate pdf with the Division 12 specs for the basement.
RFI #2 - Is there a required or preferred template for the Letters of Intent?
ANSWER #2 No standard template for a letter of intent, you may submit as a standard memorandum.
RFI #3 - Are there any additional formatting guidelines or specific content elements that should be included beyond what is described in the RFP?
ANSWER #3 No additional formatting guidelines other than that provided in the solicitation instructions.
RFI #4 - Reference the Proposal Schedule on RFP Page 3: CLIN 0001 indicates Base Proposal in the description. Please confirm that all CLINs 0001-0004 are base bid items.
ANSWER #4 Correct Clins 0001-0004 are all base bid items, this is all or none.
RFI #5 - Reference Price Volume instructions, under Binder Index, Tab 2 on RFP Page 11: Tab 2 indicates Cost Break-out Sheet for each project 654-21-103 and 654-22-003 . Please confirm cost breakout is only required for Project 640-23-108.
ANSWER #5 Correct, this is project 640-23-108, please remove reference to 654-21-103 and 654-22-003.
RFI #6 - Attachment G Supplemental Price Breakdown is organized by high-level systems rather than CSI Divisions, which are more customary and in alignment with the specifications and our estimating systems. As this worksheet indicates May be edited as needed , may we modify this sheet to reflect the CSI Divisions of work? This would provide more valuable breakdown information for the Government and would be a lot less cumbersome to fill out.
ANSWER #6 Yes, you can edit as needed.
RFI #7 Please confirm bid bond amount at 52.228-1.
Answer #7 - Bid guarantee amount shall be at least 20 percent of the bid price
But it shall not exceed $3 Million Dollars.
NOTE: We cannot offer any further extensions beyond the date on this amendment due to time constraints with the end of the fiscal year.
Additional RFI responses will be posted later this week, as the architect-engineer (A/E) firm is working through many.
