Abstract
The goals of the Year-Long Residency Partnership Grant are to:
● Encourage and incentivize educator preparation programs (EPPs) to pilot, scale, and sustain the implementation of clinically intensive and practice-based approaches to preparation across all programs and pathways, improving the quality of the teacher pipeline for Pk-12 schools (EPP reallocation).
● Build mutually beneficial partnerships between LEAs and EPPs.
● Through strategic staffing, increase the number of sustainable residency stipends for teacher candidates who train in a year-long clinical, meet the immediate instructional needs of districts/schools, and commit to teaching for at least three years in Delaware (LEA reallocation).
● Encourage and incentivize teachers from diverse backgrounds and populations to become Residents, supporting the continued development of a workforce that better reflects the communities they teach.
