This is a public synopsis of a forthcoming solicitation in accordance with FAR 36.213-2. This is NOT a solicitation, and no solicitation documents are currently publicly available.

This pre-solicitation notice is for Solicitation Number 36C24226B0058 Project Number 632-23-102 for the Replace Roof Building 92 at the Northport VA Medical Center located on 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768.

This project will be 100% Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside (SDVOSB). Competition for this procurement is restricted to verified SERVICE- DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS (SDVOSB) Contractors. The SDVOSB must be a small business under the relevant NAICS code and must be registered and verified in SBA s Small Business Search and https://www.sam.gov.

The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, size standard: $45million. IAW VAAR 852.219-10 the VIP listed SDVOSB. Prospective Contractor will not pay more than 85% of the amount paid by the government to the prime for contract performance, excluding the cost of materials, to firms that are not VIP-listed SDVOBs. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), NCO 2, Northport VA Medical Center, is seeking highly qualified construction firms to perform a full roof replacement and associated exterior envelope work for Building 92, a single story Community Living Center that remains fully occupied throughout construction. All work shall be conducted in a manner that minimizes disruption to occupants and always maintains safe access.

The project involves the removal of the existing roof and installation of a complete new roofing system for the entire building. Additional work includes installation of new galvanized steel flat bar fall protection guardrails; replacement of lightning protection components impacted by the re roofing; replacement of existing metal wall panels at raised roof areas above Nurse Stations and at the roof access enclosure; installation of new sealant at exterior windows along the building perimeter, including cleaning of existing weep holes; and abatement of existing asbestos at roof flashing locations.

PROJECT COMPLETION: Contractor to start immediately after receiving the Notice to Proceed and complete required work in 400 calendar days.

Prospective contractors must be registered at https://www.sam.gov in accordance with 38 CFR Part 74 and VAAR 819.70 to be eligible for award. There will be a site visit held for this project and all prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. Details of the site visit will be included in the solicitation document. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued on/about September 7, 2026.
