Solicitation Description
This solicitation is to inform potential offerors that Buffalo, NY VA Medical Center will be posting a solicitation (36C24226B0039) on or about February 16, 2026, to improve CO2 and mixed-gas distribution by constructing a new gas room installing a new automatic medical gas manifold system, and providing new alarms, pipelines, and outlets to ensure continuous uninterrupted gas service to Microbiology and the Blood Bank.. All work is to be performed at the Buffalo, NY VA Medical Center.
General scope of work includes:
The general scope of this project is to improve CO and mixed-gas distribution by constructing a new gas room, installing a new automatic medical gas manifold system, and providing new alarms, pipelines, and outlets to ensure continuous uninterrupted gas service to Microbiology and the Blood Bank. All work is to be performed during normal business hours though contractors shall anticipate work to be performed off hours for tasks such as building system shutdowns or other tasks that may impact patient care areas.
A brief overview of the construction work will be included with SOW in the solicitation.
It has been determined that there are enough qualified Service-Disabled Veteran Own Small Business (SDVOSB) firms that are capable of performing under NAICS Code 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction with a size standard of $45.0M. Therefore, this procurement is 100% set-aside for SDVOSB. The magnitude of the project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Information regarding the scheduled site visit will be stated in the Solicitation. Bid bonding will be required to respond to this IFB once released. It is anticipated that this contract will be awarded o/a March 2026.
OBTAINING SOLICITATION MATERIAL
Solicitation materials consisting of the information for bid details, specifications, drawings, and contract forms will be available on http://www.sam.gov in electronic format only. Should be available on or about February 2026.
SOLICITATION AMENDMENTS: Amendments to the solicitation will be posted at http://www.sam.gov. Paper copies of the amendments will NOT be individually mailed. No other notification of amendments will be provided. Bidders are reminded that they are responsible for obtaining and acknowledging all amendments to this solicitation by the time of bid opening.
Once the solicitation is released, bids will be accepted electronically only, due to ongoing safety concerns regarding the COVID -19 pandemic.
