    The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) intends to enter a onetime agreement with SciAps, Inc to provide one X-550PB with Lead in Soil & HUD/EPA Lead Paint Analyzer which will include: 2 Li-Ion batteries, battery charger, ruggedized carrying case, spare Kapton windows, operations manual, 1 year manufacturing warranty on analyzer, and 5 year warranty on X-ray tube. MDH will use this X Ray fluorescence (XRF) device for conducting compliance checks and as a part of the HUD grant inspections in residential and commercial buildings.

    This has been deemed a single source as SciAps, Inc is the sole proprietor and sells direct, not through dealers or distributors. X-550 Pb is the only portable XRF analyzer manufactured that has received a HUD Performance Characteristics Sheet (PCS) that does NOT require a radioactive source.
