Widen & Replace Asphalt Trail at Texas Drive Park

The Charter Township of Texas, Kalamazoo County Michigan, is requesting bids from qualified contractors to widen and replace specified sections of asphalt walking trail located within Texas Drive Park. Total length of trail to be widened and replaced is 2,550 linear feet.  The existing trail width is six feet; the proposed trail width is eight feet.  Total area of new trail is 20,400 square feet.  All work described herein is to begin no sooner than September 8, 2026 and be completed no later than November 8, 2026. Bids are due on April 23, 2026 and must be made on the Bid Form provided by the Charter Township of Texas (attached).

Texas Township reserves the right to waive any informality in the request for bids, to reject any

or all bids; and to award the contract, in its entirety or portions of the scope of work, in a manner which it considers to be in the best interest of the township. The Township reserves the right to use whatever reasonable and sensible evaluation techniques it deems appropriate.

Pre-Bid Meeting

A pre-bid meeting with the Township Engineer will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The meeting will begin in the parking lot at the east end of Texas Drive Park and will include a walk of the site for visual inspection of existing conditions. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.

Bid Submission Requirements

In order to be considered, a bid must meet the following requirements:

1. Provide project cost on the attached Bid Form. Bids that fail to complete and submit this form will not be considered for contract award.

2. Submission deadline is 4:00 pm on Thursday, April 23. Postmarks are not accepted.
