INFORMATION FOR BIDDERS

1 – NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Finney County, Kansas, is accepting sealed bids from qualified contractors for the replacement

of Exterior Door & Frame within the Finney County Exhibition Building.

Project Name: Exterior Door & Frame Replacement – Exhibition Building

Bid Due Date: Tuesday, July 28, 2026

Bid Due Time: 1:59 p.m.

Bid Submission Location: 209 Lake Ave, Garden City, KS 67846

Bids received after the stated time will not be accepted.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held as follows:

2 – PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Finney County is soliciting bids for the replacement of an existing door & frame of the

Exhibition Building.

The project will replace the doors and existing door frame on the west side of the Exhibition

Building.

Refer to Attachment B – Project Image

The project will be scheduled for a time in which the building is unoccupied.

3 – SCOPE OF WORK

3.1 General Requirements

The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and coordination

necessary to complete the project.

3.2 Demolition

• Remove current door frame, doors, windows, closers, and handles as required

• Protect adjacent structures, including interior and exterior flooring

• Dispose of all debris off-site• Maintain safety barriers as needed

3.3 Framing

• Construct and install new metal framing equivalent to current door frame

3.4 Windows

• Install new windows equivalent to current windows

3.5 Doors and Hardware

• Install new doors and hardware

• Ensure ADA compliance

3.6 Finishes

• Paint all affected areas

• Install transition strips

3.7 Code Compliance

All work must comply with applicable building codes, ADA requirements, and life safety

standards.

3.8 Cleanup and Closeout

• Daily and final cleanup

• Remove debris

• Provide warranties and closeout documents

4 – SITE CONDITIONS

• Work will occur in an unoccupied facility

• Contractor shall coordinate access and staging

• Maintain safe and clean worksite at all times

5 – CONTRACT TIME

Contractor shall provide:

• Proposed start date

o Must work with schedule of Fairgrounds Events

• Substantial completion date• Total duration

6 – BID SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS

Each bid shall include:

• Completed Bid Form

• Lump sum cost

• Project schedule

• Subcontractor list

• References (3 minimum)

• Proof of insurance

• Acknowledgment of addenda

7 – INSURANCE AND BONDING

General Liability: $1,000,000 per occurrence

Workers Compensation: Kansas statutory

Auto Liability: $1,000,000

8 – PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS

Contractor shall obtain all permits and coordinate inspections.

9 – WARRANTY

Minimum one (1) year warranty on workmanship and materials.

10 – EVALUATION AND AWARD

Evaluation Criteria:

• Schedule

• Completeness
