Title: Well No. 20 Rehabilitation
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 10/16/2025
Due Date: 10/31/2025
The City of Aurora is seeking a qualified contractor to rehabilitate the existing municipal water Well No. 20 for the Water Production Division. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, transportation, tools, supplies, equipment, and appurtenances necessary for the complete and satisfactory rehabilitation of existing municipal water Well No. 20.
The work shall be done in conformity with the specifications and exhibits and as called for by the respective Bid Items. Work may include, but not be limited to, removing, inspecting, and rehabilitating existing well equipment consisting of existing pumping assembly, motor, column piping, power cables, and appurtenances; well bailing; television survey; providing new well equipment; installing rehabilitated or new well equipment; well production testing; and well disinfection.
The existing Water Well No. 20 was originally constructed in 1967 into the deep Ironton-Galesville sandstone formation. The driller’s report states that the total depth is 1400’. The pumping assembly consists of a 350 HP Type M Byron Jackson/Flowserve submersible motor; Byron Jackson/Flowserve model 14CKH 10 stage all bronze submersible vertical turbine pump, set at 838'; 10” column pipe with threaded couplings; two 10” surge check valves; and appurtenances. Well No. 20 has not had any major issues; however, the average well yield has decreased gradually since its rehabilitation and maintenance in 2014. The City wishes to rehabilitate this well for scheduled maintenance before any major issues occur. The City desires to have the well and pumping equipment rehabilitated to yield an output more consistent with intended design of 1,400 gpm.
