Title: Wavetek System Upgrade at McDonald Water Park
Addenda: 0
Release Date: 4/15/2025
Due Date: 4/30/2025
This is not a Request for Proposals, and no solicitation is available. The proposed contract action is for products or services for which the City intends to negotiate and award with only one contractor/vendor under the authority of and in accordance with Florida State Statute 287.057(5)(c). Any responses received as a result of this Notice of Intent shall be considered solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Responses will not be considered as proposals, bids, or quotes.
The City of Hialeah is seeking to upgrade the wave generation system at McDonald Water Park to ensure continued safe, efficient, and reliable operation ahead of the upcoming season. The project includes demolition of outdated components and installation of a new Wavetek system, manufactured and commissioned by Aquatic Development Group, Inc. This upgrade features a modern control panel with VFD motor starting and PLC controls, stainless steel VaraWave valves, solenoids, clamps, oilers, and a spare parts kit, along with technician support for start-up and training. This investment is vital to maintain the integrity and performance of the wave pool, which is a key attraction within the facility.
The City of Hialeah requires the services of an experienced vendor to provide proprietary wave system upgrade services/goods supporting the Aquatics department/operation of the McDonald Water Park. The current Wavetek wave generation system was originally installed in 2001 and has not been upgraded since. The aging system now presents performance limitations and operational risks due to obsolete parts and unsupported components, making this sole source upgrade necessary for safety, functionality, and public satisfaction.
