1.4 WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS
A. The Work of Project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but is not limited to,
the following:
1. The Work includes construction of Segment 1 of the waterfront resiliency system,
including installation of a steel sheet pile resiliency wall and associated utility, drainage,
and roadway improvements. Work requires coordination with existing utilities and
drainage features.
The Work generally consists of, but is not limited to, the following:
* Abandonment of existing watermain in place by grouting.
* Removal and replacement of two existing pipe culverts.

* Installation of approximately 613 linear feet (LF) of steel sheet pile resiliency
wall.
* Installation of approximately 620 linear feet (LF) of new watermain.
* Minor regrading and earthwork within the existing ditch to accommodate pro-
posed improvements.
* Removal and replacement of approximately 11,050 square feet (SF) of asphalt
roadway.
* All other labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals necessary to complete the
Work as shown in the Drawings.
See Section 012200 "Unit Prices" for additional requirements, definitions, and measure-
ment provisions associated with individual Work items.
B. Type of Contract:
1. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract.
1.5 CONTRACTOR'S USE OF SITE AND PREMISES
A. Restricted Use of Site: Contractor shall have limited use of Project site for construction
operations as indicated on Drawings by the Contract limits and as indicated by requirements of
this Section.
B. Limits on Use of Site: Limit use of Project site to Work in areas indicated. Do not disturb
portions of Project site beyond areas in which the Work is indicated.
1. Driveways, Walkways, and Entrances: Keep driveways and entrances serving premises
clear and available to Owner, Owner's employees, and emergency vehicles at all times.
Do not use these areas for parking or for storage of materials.
a. Schedule deliveries to minimize use of driveways and entrances by construction
operations.
b. Schedule deliveries to minimize space and time requirements for storage of
materials and equipment on-site.
C. Condition of Existing Grounds: Maintain portions of existing grounds, landscaping, and
hardscaping affected by construction operations throughout construction period. Repair damage
caused by construction operations.
1.6 COORDINATION WITH OCCUPANTS
A. Partial Owner Occupancy: Owner will occupy the premises during entire construction period,
with the exception of areas under construction. Cooperate with Owner during construction
operations to minimize conflicts and facilitate Owner usage. Perform the Work so as not to
interfere with Owner's operations.
1. Maintain access to existing walkways, roads, and other adjacent occupied or used
facilities as required by Owner. Do not close or obstruct walkways, roads, or other

occupied or used facilities without prior notice and written permission from Owner and
authorities having jurisdiction.
2. Provide not less than 72 hours notice to Owner of activities that will affect Owner's
operations.
1.7 WORK RESTRICTIONS
A. Comply with restrictions on construction operations.
1. Comply with limitations on use of public streets, work on public streets, rights of way,
and other requirements of authorities having jurisdiction.
B. On-Site Work Hours: Limit work to between 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday,
unless otherwise indicated. Work hours may be modified to meet Project requirements if
approved by Owner and authorities having jurisdiction.
1. Weekend Hours: Limit work on weekends between 7:00am to 4:00pm. Weekend work
may not be scheduled if a major event is scheduled at the adjacent park. Coordinate all
weekend work with Owner.
2. Early Morning Hours: Construction may begin at 7 am.
3. Hours for Utility Shutdowns: Coordinate with Owner.
4. Hours for Pile Driving: 7:00am - 4:00pm.
C. Existing Utility Interruptions: Do not interrupt utilities serving facilities occupied by Owner or
others unless permitted under the following conditions and then only after arranging for
temporary utility services according to requirements indicated:
1. Notify Owner not less than three (3) days in advance of proposed utility interruptions.
2. Obtain Owner's written permission before proceeding with utility interruptions.
D. Noise, Vibration, Dust, and Odors: Coordinate operations that may result in high levels of noise
and vibration, dust, odors, or other disruption to Owner occupancy with Owner.
1. Notify Owner not less than three (3) days in advance of proposed disruptive operations.
2. Obtain Owner's written permission before proceeding with disruptive operations.

UNIT PRICES
PART 1 - GENERAL

1.3 DEFINITIONS
A. Unit price is a price per unit of measurement for materials, equipment, or services, or a portion of
the Work, added to or deducted from the Contract Sum by appropriate modification, if the scope
of Work or estimated quantities of Work required by the Contract Documents are increased or
decreased.
1.4 PROCEDURES
A. Unit prices include all necessary material, plus cost for delivery, installation, insurance,
applicable taxes, overhead, and profit.
B. Measurement and Payment: See individual Specification Sections for work that requires
establishment of unit prices. Methods of measurement and payment for unit prices are specified
in those Sections.
C. Owner reserves the right to reject Contractor's measurement of work-in-place that involves use
of established unit prices and to have this work measured, at Owner's expense, by an independent
surveyor acceptable to Contractor.
D. List of Unit Prices: A schedule of unit prices is included in Part 3. Specification Sections
referenced in the Part 3 "Schedule of Unit Prices" Article contain requirements for materials
described under each unit price.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 SCHEDULE OF UNIT PRICES
A. Unit Price No. 1: Sidewalk Demolition
1. Description: Removal and disposal of existing sidewalk, including sawcutting, removal of
base material as required, loading, hauling, and lawful disposal, in accordance with Section
024100 "Demolition." Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals
required to remove existing sidewalk.
2. Unit of Measurement: Lump sum (LS) of sidewalk removal.
B. Unit Price No. 2: Roadway Demolition
1. Description: Removal and disposal of existing asphalt pavement, including sawcutting,
breaking, removal of base material as required, excavation, loading, hauling, and lawful
disposal, in accordance with Section 024100 "Demolition." Work includes all labor,
materials, equipment, and incidentals required to remove existing roadway.
2. Unit of Measurement: Square yard (SY) of roadway removed.
C. Unit Price No. 3: Corrugated Plastic Pipe Demolition
1. Description: Removal and lawful disposal of existing corrugated plastic pipe, including
excavation and bedding removal as required. Work includes all labor, materials,
equipment, and incidentals required to remove existing corrugated plastic pipes.
2. Unit of Measurement: Lump Sum (LS) of corrugated plastic pipe removal.
D. Unit Price No. 4: Existing Watermain Grouting
1. Description: Abandonment of existing watermain in place by pressure grouting, including
preparation of the existing pipe, installation of plugs, furnishing and placement of grout,
and sealing of all pipe ends and connections. Work includes all labor, materials, equipment,
and incidentals required to fill the existing pipe and appurtenances.
2. Unit of Measurement: Lump sum (LS) for existing watermain grouting.
E. Unit Price No. 5: Steel Sheet Pile Wall
1. Description: Furnish and install steel sheet pile wall system including sheet piles, coatings,
pile driving, cutting, welding, alignment, reinforced concrete cap, FDOT style guardrail,
and all necessary appurtenances required to complete the wall. Work includes all labor,
materials, templates, equipment, and incidentals required to install the resiliency wall. All
work shall be in accordance with Section 314116 "Steel Sheet Pile Bulkhead."
2. Unit of Measurement: Linear foot (LF) of wall installed.

F. Unit Price No. 6: New 8" Watermain
1. Description: Furnish and install 8" watermain including pipe, fittings, valves, connections,
flushing hydrants, thrust blocks, bedding, excavation, backfill, compaction, testing,
disinfection, and connections to existing systems. Work includes all labor, materials,
equipment, and incidentals required to install the new watermain.
2. Unit of Measurement: Linear foot (LF) of pipe installed.
G. Unit Price No. 7: New 24" RCP Outfall Pipes
1. Description: Furnish and install 24" RCP pipes and manatee grates including excavation,
bedding, jointing, backfill, compaction, restoration of disturbed areas, and anchorage.
Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to install the RCP
pipes.
2. Unit of Measurement: Linear foot (LF) of pipe installed.
H. Unit Price No. 8: Check Valves
1. Description: Furnish and install check valves including all fittings, appurtenances,
connections, and testing. Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals
required to install the check valves.
2. Unit of Measurement: Each (EA) check valve installed.
I. Unit Price No. 9: New Roadway Section
1. Description: Construction of roadway section including subgrade preparation, base course,
compaction, and asphalt pavement. Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and
incidentals required to construct new roadway.
2. Unit of Measurement: Square yard (SY) of roadway constructed.
J. Unit Price No. 10: Hydroplanks
1. Description: Furnish and install hydroplank system, including planks, framing, fasteners,
brackets, supports, anchorage, and all required hardware. Includes delivery, handling,
installation, cutting, fitting, and adjustments necessary to provide a complete system in
place. Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to install
hydroplank system. All work shall be in accordance with Section 083473 "Flood Barriers."
2. Unit of Measurement: Lump sum (LS) for installed hydroplank system.
K. Unit Price No. 11: Ditch Earthwork
1. Description: Ditch earthwork including minor regrading, excavation, shaping, and
trimming of the ditch to the lines and grades shown on the Drawings. Includes removal of
unsuitable material as required, placement of excavated or imported material, compaction,
and restoration of disturbed areas. Work includes all labor, materials, equipment, and
incidentals required to provide a complete and stable ditch section.
2. Unit of Measurement: Lump sum (LS) for ditch earthwork.
