The Work consists of all work required by the Construction Documents necessary for the HVAC Improvements project at the Henrico County Department of Public Utilities’ Water Treatment Facility (WTF) located at 10111 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, VA; and Raw Water Pump Station (RWPS) located at 1201 South Gaskins Road, Richmond, VA, including removal and disposal of ACU-8 and associated ACC-2, ACU-9 and associated ACC-3, ACU-10 and associated ACC-5, ACU-11 and associated ACC-6, ACU-7 and associated ACC-4, ACU-6 and associated ACC-1 and all associated refrigeration piping, piping accessories and supports serving the main water plant. Work at the main water plant also includes the removal and disposal of the air-cooled chiller (CHIL-1) located outside on grade. Work also consists of the removal and disposal of ACU-1 and associated ACC-1 and all associated refrigerant piping, piping accessories, and supports at the Raw Water Pumping Station as well as the removal and disposal of the through-the-wall air conditioner (WAC-1) serving the control room in the pumping station. All refrigerant must be recovered from existing systems and disposed of in compliance with local, state and federal regulations prior to systems demolition. All systems listed above will be replaced and the DDC system serving the Water Treatment Facility, Washwater/Sludge Pump Station, and the Raw Water Pump Station will be replaced in its entirety along with associated control components. Plumbing work includes the provision of floor drains in the lab space to serve the existing emergency plumbing fixtures. These drains will be tied into a new neutralization basin located in the interstitial space, and tied in parallel to the existing neutralization basin. A new tepid water circulation line will be installed between the water heaters and the emergency plumbing fixtures in order to provide immediate access to tepid water at the emergency fixtures. Supporting structural and architectural work includes, but not limited to, enlarging interior door opening in CMU wall, pipe penetrations through CMU and concrete, concrete equipment pads, and supplemental steel framing and flashing at new openings in the metal roof deck. The Work shall be completed over three (3) phases. Work under each of the three phases may be completed concurrently, but priority shall be given to Phase 1, followed by Phase 2, then Phase 3. Accordingly, substantial completion times have been applied to each of the work completion phases. TAB work for each item of equipment shall be included in the phase where that equipment is installed.
