WATER SOFTENING SALT 2025

Sealed Bids for the purchase of Water Softening Salt for use in treatment of potable water for the City of Athens, Ohio will be received by the City of Athens, Ohio, at the City Building, 8 East Washington Street, until 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 9th, 2025. At that time and place, they will be publicly opened and read aloud.   All bids will be considered valid until sixty (60) days after the opening date, although not accepted or rejected.

Each bid shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same. It shall be accompanied by a personal bond, in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, or by a certified check, cashier's check or irrevocable letter of credit for ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the City of Athens, Ohio, conditioned that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into within sixty (60) days after notice of acceptance. A performance bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to law, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract.

The City of Athens reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities as may be in its best interest.
