WASTEWATER TREATMENT FACILITY
Installation of New 905-Gallon Sodium Hypochlorite Bulk Storage Tank The Town of Warren, Rhode Island (“Town”) is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified contractors for the demolition, removal, disposal, and replacement of an existing sodium hypochlorite bulk storage tank at the Town of Warren Wastewater Treatment Facility, located at 427 Water Street, Warren R.I. The work includes furnishing and installing a new 905-gallon sodium hypochlorite bulk storage tank, reconnecting associated piping, testing, and placing the system into service. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the work described below: • Disconnect, demolish, remove, and dispose of the existing sodium hypochlorite storage tank. • Dispose of the tank in accordance with all applicable RIDEM, EPA, and OSHA regulations. • Furnish and install one (1) new 905-gallon sodium hypochlorite bulk storage tank. • Tank shall: o Match the existing tank in size, configuration, orientation, material, and connection locations, where practicable. o Be suitable for sodium hypochlorite service. o Comply with applicable industry standards and manufacturer recommendations. • Install the new tank on the existing concrete tank pad, which shall be reused. • Reconnect all existing influent, effluent, vent, overflow, fill, and drain piping as required. • Furnish and install one (1) new expansion joint compatible with sodium hypochlorite service. • Replace gaskets, fasteners, and minor piping components as necessary to ensure a complete and leak-free installation. • All materials shall be chemically compatible with sodium hypochlorite. • Perform leak testing and system testing of the tank and associated piping. • Prepare the system for service. • Coordinate startup and place the system into full operational service with Wastewater Treatment Facility personnel. |
