Background

The Washington Public Improvement Project ("Project") is located along F Street between 5th Street and 6th Street and is intended to improve pedestrian infrastructure and support ongoing revitalization efforts within the Washington District. Improvements will include the construction of new sidewalk segments to close existing gaps, installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps and crosswalk improvements, and installation of new street lighting to improve visibility and pedestrian safety.

The project will also include landscaping and irrigation improvements designed to complement the aesthetic of streetscape improvements completed within the Washington District. In addition, the project includes the installation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of 5th Street and F Street to improve traffic operations and enhance safety for both pedestrians and motorists.

The City is currently obtaining a Permit to Construct and Enter for limited areas outside the right-of-way. The permit will be secured prior to construction.
