Washington Heights Substation Renewal – 8 Avenue, in the Borough of Manhattan.

Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid: Renewal of the above-ground Washington Heights Substation Serving the IND 8th Avenue Line (A/C) and the IRT 7th Avenue Line (#1). The Work includes:

1. Decommission, remove, dispose, upgrade, and/or replace elements of the Washington Height Substation’s traction power equipment, including switchgears, transformers, rectifiers, DC breakers, and other systems.
2. Furnish and install Property Line Boxes (PLBs) for high- and low-tension service lines from Con Edison.
3. Furnish and install positive and negative feeder cables, control cables, battery cables, and other cables, and extend and connect positive and negative feeder cables from the Substation to Circuit Breaker Houses (“CBH”) and third rail.
4. Replace Remote Terminal Unit (“RTU”) with Programmable Logic Cabinet (“PLC”) and Digital Input and Output Cabinet (“DIO") for the substation’s elements of the SCADA system.
5. Refurbish existing crew facilities including bathroom and crew quarters, and new staircase.
6. Refurbish overhead equipment crane and upgrade crane controls

This is an A + B Bidding Contract.
