Walkway Cover Replacement
Invitation
Columbus County Schools is soliciting sealed proposals from qualified contractors to replace
existing covered walkways at West Columbus High School.
Scope of Work
Phase 1: Approximately 260 feet long by 10 feet wide. Phase 2: Approximately 200 feet long
by 6 feet wide. Existing support posts shall remain. The contractor shall remove and dispose
of the existing upper structure and roof sheeting and furnish and install new upper
structural members and roof sheeting. The contractor shall provide all labor, materials,
equipment, supervision, cleanup, and incidentals necessary for a complete project.
Mandatory Site Visit
A mandatory pre-proposal site visit is required. Contact Timmy Ward, Maintenance
Director at 910-770-2303 or tward@columbus.k12.nc.us to schedule the site visit.
Failure to attend the mandatory site visit may result in the proposal being deemed
non-responsive.
Contractor Responsibilities
The contractor is responsible for demolition, hauling, lawful disposal of removed materials,
protection of school property, compliance with OSHA and applicable codes, and final
cleanup.
Proposal Requirements
Include contractor qualifications, North Carolina license, insurance, references, lump-sum
pricing, project schedule, warranty, and acknowledgment of addenda.
