Summary
The City of Lawrence, Kansas is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide contingency wastewater biosolids removal, transportation, and land application services for the Wakarusa River Wastewater Treatment Plant (WRWWTP). Services will be required only when the City determines that a Contingency Situation exists, including when on-site agricultural fields are unsuitable for biosolids application due to soil or weather conditions, or when the City's biosolids storage facility is approaching or has reached capacity.
The selected Contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, transportation, and other resources necessary to remove, transport, and land apply wastewater biosolids in accordance with the Project Specifications. Individual contingency events are anticipated to involve approximately 600,000 to 1,250,000 gallons of biosolids.
Services will be performed only upon written authorization from the City. The City does not guarantee any minimum quantity of work or number of contingency events during the contract term. Payment will be based on the actual gallons of biosolids land applied at the Contractor's contracted unit price per gallon following completion of each authorized service event.
