Description
Project Description: Request for Proposal – RFP 2026-017
The Waco Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking qualified consultants to conduct a comprehensive transportation signage inventory and implement targeted safety demonstration projects across its planning area in McLennan County, Texas. The purpose of this effort is to identify, document, and address deficiencies in roadway signage that contribute to safety risks for all users of the transportation system. Signage functions as a foundational component of a safe and legible roadway network, and inconsistencies, deterioration, or absence of signage can introduce uncertainty and increase crash risk, particularly in rural and small-community environments. For more detailed information, see this project page at https://waco-texas.bonfirehub.com/portal.
A Non-mandatory Pre-Submittal meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 10:00 A. M. via Zoom Video and Dial In. For questions, please contact purchasing agent Paul Campos at pcampos@wacotx.gov or by phone at 254-750-8062.
