Project Description:
Mechanically dredging contaminated sediment from the Indiana Harbor and Canal (IHC), and transporting the sediment via sealed hull barges to the Confined Disposal Facility (CDF) site located at the upstream end of the IHC. The primary objective of this dredging contract is to remove material in the IHC that remained after previous dredging efforts, which may include unconsolidated sedimentary materials, cemented material, or other hard-digging materials, and material that contains metal content (shavings and/or taconite pellets).
B. Hydraulically off-load dredged sediment into the CDF cells using slurry water recirculated from the CDF. Debris and unpumpable material will be separated from pumpable material, and will be placed into the CDF by mechanical means.
The North American Industry Classification System code (NAICS) 237990 with a size standard of $37.0M. The estimated price range for this construction project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. 100% small business set-aside.
