Sewer Improvements project

Sealed Bids for the West Britain Avenue and West Empire Avenue Sewer Improvements Project will be received by the City of Benton Harbor Clerk’s Office, at 200 E. Wall Street, Benton Harbor, MI 49022. Bids will be received and opened on Thursday, February 26th at 2:00 PM local time.

The project includes replacement of sanitary sewers and sewer service laterals, storm sewer updates where necessary, hydrant replacements, hot mix asphalt paving, curbs and gutters, and sidewalk ramp improvements with all associated traffic control work.

Bids shall be made on a unit price basis. Sealed bids bearing the Project name and Contract(s) included with the bid, as well as the name and address of the bidder shall be submitted to Tiffany Moore, City Clerk at 200 E. Wall Street, Benton Harbor MI 49022. Sealed bids may also be delivered to the drop box in front of the City Hall, located at 200 E. Wall Street by the aforementioned deadline.

Information and Bidding Documents for the Project will be available on Thursday, February 5, 2026 and can be found at the following designated website: http://www.abonmarche.com/bids.

Bid forms shall be submitted with all required bid attachments. A certified check, cashier's check, or bid bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, made payable to the City of Benton Harbor will be required with each bid as security for the proper execution of the contract. A 100% Labor, Material, and Performance Bond will be required of successful bidder.

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the scheduled opening without consent of the OWNER. The Owner reserves the right to reject any bids, waive any informality in bidding or to accept the bid, consistent with law, which best serves the interest of the Owner.
