Volusia County Backflow Devices Testing & Certification & Parts

Volusia County is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to provide countywide backflow prevention device inspection, testing, certification, maintenance, repair, and installation services for various County-owned facilities. The intent of this solicitation is to establish an agreement that ensures regulatory compliance, protects the public water supply, and maintains the operational integrity of potable and reclaimed water systems.

Volusia County previously awarded ITB No. 21-B-183MC for backflow device testing, certification, repair, and parts, resulting in a multi-year agreement with a qualified contractor for these services.

Under the prior agreement, services included annual testing, repairs, and installations of backflow prevention devices across County facilities, with pricing structured on a per-device and hourly labor basis. The contract term ran from October 28, 2021 through October 27, 2026, and was awarded to Ready Plumbing and Fire Protection, Inc. following a competitive bidding process.

As the existing agreement is approaching expiration, the County is issuing a new solicitation to continue these essential services, incorporate updated operational needs, and ensure continued compliance with applicable state and local regulations governing backflow prevention systems.
