The Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates soliciting proposals and intending to award a contract for a project titled VISN 1 Optical IDIQ . Any acquisition that follows this pre-solicitation notice will be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 15 Contracting by Negotiation, and other applicable regulations. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set Aside for Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. Locations will be at all VA Hospitals under VISN 1: VA New England Health Care System and their outpatient clinics for fabrication of eyeglasses and optician services. The Government intends to award one firm fixed price indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, with a 5-year ordering period.

The solicitation will contain the required technical information and a specified due date and time. Hard copy documents will not be available all documents for proposal purposes will be posted at this website for download. Proposals will be due approximately 30 days after issuance of solicitation unless extended by amendment. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of proposals. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this announcement.
