Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-128 and 143-129 and city policy, sealed proposals endorsed "Virginia Newell-
Massey Greenway Repair, FB2740" will be received by City/County Purchasing, City Hall, 101 North
Main Street, Winston-Salem, NC until the date and time listed above. The City reserves the right to reject
any or all proposals. Should less than three bids be received, the project will have to be re-advertised.
Bidders must be properly licensed as required by Chapter 87 of the North Carolina General Statutes. A 5%
Bid Bond will be required at time of opening bids. 100% Performance & Payment Bonds will be required
of the awarded contractor.

or 336-747-6939 during normal business hours. Bidders are encouraged to carefully read and understand
the contents of the Bidding Documents. The bid documents include the bid package and plans. Bid
documents can be obtained by contacting Catherine Knisley.
The project is a streambank and floodway restoration for two sections of Brushy Fork along the Virginia
Newell-Massey Greenway. It also includes greenway repair and relocation.

A non-mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 AM, August 26, 2026 at site. See next page
for meeting location overview and address.
The purpose of this conference is to summarize the scope of work involved and to explain the City's bid
process. Staff will be present to answer questions. A record of attendees will be made. (Attendance is
always encouraged even when non-mandatory.)
Neither Owner nor Engineer has any responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, or sufficiency of any Bidding Documents
obtained from any source other than the contacts listed above. Obtaining these documents from any source other than a City
representative may result in obtaining incomplete and inaccurate information. Obtaining these documents from any source other
than a City representative may also result in failure to receive any addenda, corrections, or other revisions to the Bidding
Documents that may be issued.
