Project Description: There are several viaducts across Jefferson County that experience over height strikes as well as roadway flooding. This project attempts to improve safety and reliability of the roadway networks in and around the identified viaducts. As a pilot project, there will be different solutions installed to address over height strikes and flooding at the identified viaducts. The detection devices and equipment will relay the following information to the traveling public as well as government agencies:
Roadway flooding at the viaduct
There is an over height approaching at the viaduct.
An over height vehicle has struck the viaduct.
