Summary
Pursuant to the Port St. Lucie City Code of Ordinance 35.07, this electronic Invitation for Bid (IFB) is being issued to establish a contract with a qualified proposer who will provide Veterans Park Boat Ramp Milling & Resurfacing to the City of Port St. Lucie (hereinafter, “City”) as further described in this IFB.
The project includes milling, asphalt resurfacing, limited pavement repairs, drainage improvements, and restriping of the existing parking area to improve surface conditions, drainage, and safety for vehicles and boat trailers. The work will extend the life of City infrastructure and support continued public access to the boat ramp.
The project is funded in part by a Florida Inland Navigation District Waterways Assistance Grant and supports the City’s ongoing investment in The Port District as a key waterfront recreation area.
Background
Veterans Park at Rivergate Boat Ramp provides direct access to the North Fork of the St. Lucie River and serves as a regional launch site for boating and recreational use. The existing parking area has deteriorated due to high traffic and weather exposure. Milling and resurfacing will enhance public access, improve usability, and provide a safer, longer-lasting surface for visitors.
The project aligns with the City’s strategic goal to expand opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoyment of the riverfront. Once complete, the improvements will complement recent and planned upgrades throughout The Port District and ensure the facility continues to serve both residents and visitors efficiently. The project is partially funded through a Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) Waterways Assistance Grant, which requires project closeout by November 30, 2026, supporting the City’s continued investment in waterfront recreation and access.
