I. General The successful Respondent will to assess, document, and clear disaster-related vegetative debris, including trees, branches, shrubbery, and other disaster-generated debris, from transportation routes and rights of way (ROW) in a post-disaster environment. Contractor shall not clear non-disaster-related vegetative debris unless expressly approved by Issuing Member. Contract will maintain disaster-related and non-disaster-related separately. II. Services Vegetative debris within the ROW is to be handled in a cut-and- toss method in which the debris will be removed from Member assets (powerlines and power poles) and left on site to decompose or be collected by Member’s debris removal contractor. Selected Contractor(s) will be required to follow Federal Regulations applicable to the Services As a part of the Services, Respondent may be asked to perform the following non-exhaustive list of activities:
• Cutting trees, brush, limbs, and other vegetation that interferes with Member’s infrastructure or restricts access to utility linemen;
• Trimming or felling trees as required to clear the ROW and protect Member’s infrastructure from further damage;
• Tossing or placing cut materials outside the designated work zone so that access is unobstructed. Cut debris shall not block roads, the ROW, or access to Member’s infrastructure, and shall not create additional hazards;
• Clearing access routes, roadways, ROWs, etc. that impede Member’s ability to access infrastructure drainage paths;
• Patrolling ROWs to identify and make safe hazardous trees that are dead, dying, uprooted, undermined, or leaning because of the disaster.
• Maintaining documentation associated with the management of hazardous limbs and trees that threaten Member’s infrastructure or the public health and safety. Contractor shall document, with photographs, the hazardous vegetation requiring cutting, pruning, or removal before the work is performed. III. Equipment Contractor shall provide equipment suitable to vegetation management and cut and toss operations, including but not limited to:
• Vehicles (pick-up trucks, utility vehicles, etc.);
• Aerial lift trucks, chip trucks, and mechanic trucks;
• Chipper disc;
• Chainsaws and power saws.
