Vegetation Management

The City of Lawrence, KS is seeking qualified contractors to provide high-quality vegetation control services for various City-owned properties during the 2026 growing season. The contract term shall encompass the 2026 growing season, anticipated to run from approximately April 1, 2026, through November 14, 2026, subject to weather conditions.

The City of Lawrence maintains diverse public properties that require ongoing vegetation management to ensure safety, accessibility, aesthetic quality, and regulatory compliance. Effective vegetation control supports public health and safety by reducing tall grass and noxious weeds, which can harbor pests, impede visibility, and impact adjacent infrastructure. Additionally, proper vegetation management contributes to stormwater protection by minimizing debris and clippings entering drainage systems and supports compliance with Kansas Noxious Weed Law, which mandates control of designated noxious species on all lands under municipal jurisdiction.

This contract will support the City’s efforts to proactively and efficiently manage vegetation across multiple City-owned sites throughout Lawrence for the 2026 growing season, ensuring these public spaces remain safe, attractive, and environmentally responsible.
