Commodity or Service Required: Purchase of VEGA Level Transmitters, Parts, Maintenance, and Support Description: Lee County Utilities seeks to execute a single-source procurement for water level transmitters, replacement parts, maintenance, repair/ replacement services, and technical support by VEGA Americas, Inc. Level transmitters are used at all of the treatment facilities including treatment structures, chemical storage tanks, and generator fuel tanks to measure and monitor liquid and solid levels to ensure efficient and safe operations. They control pump functions, manage tank levels, optimize treatment processes, and prevent overflows, contributing to safety and regulatory compliance. This equipment is currently in service and switching to another system and/or manufacturer would cause substantial increases in restocking inventory costs, delays, and labor, which is why Lee County Utilities does not anticipate switching equipment, but requires the listed suppliers’ equipment and services at this time. Intended Single Source: VEGA Americas, Inc. Justification for Single Source Acquisition: VEGA Americas, Inc.is the sole manufacturer of Vega Level Transmitters and the only company that can provide replacement parts, maintenance, repair/ replacement services, and technical support. Lee County Utilities has standardized the utilization of VEGA Americas, Inc. level instruments for water and wastewater treatment. To ensure ongoing maintenance and repair of this equipment, it is necessary to retain VEGA Americas, Inc. as the authorized vendor for equipment supply and service maintenance as they are the only provider. Recommended Procurement Approach: For the reason(s) stated above, Lee County Procurement Management intends to utilize the Single Source Procurement method to purchase from VEGA Americas, Inc. to supply the above. Respond to: If your firm feels they have the ability to supply the above, please contact Kevin Walker, Lee County Procurement Management at KWalker2@leegov.com for review. |
