Scope of Services
Kissimmee Utility Authority KUA is requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the construction of KUA’s new greenfield Van Meter Substation.
The objective of this RFP is to select a Contractor to perform substation construction activities, including furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment not provided by KUA. KUA will supply major equipment including breakers, substation transformers, PDC switchgear, and the control house. A complete list of KUA furnished equipment is provided in Section 3.IV.2. The Contractor shall construct the substation and install all KUA furnished materials.
The Contractor shall be responsible for all work necessary to complete the substation construction in accordance with the contract documents and applicable standards.
Work not included in this RFP includes the following:
• Transformer erection, assembly, and filling

• Supply and termination of relay control or power cables

• Testing and commissioning of substation equipment

• Installation of transmission structures other than substation H frame transmission bay takeoff structures

• Supply, installation, and termination of 15KV URD feeder cable

• Supply and installation of 15KV station service transformers

• Supply and installation of distribution circuit air break cabinet switchgear

• Supply and installation of the substation battery system and charger
The Contractor shall coordinate and cooperate with KUA Operations crews and other contractors performing work outside the scope of this RFP.
Only firms with demonstrated experience in substation construction will be eligible to submit proposals. All on site personnel must be properly trained and qualified.
