Scope of work for Washers & Dryers PR # 11702PR250000304





Purpose and objective:



CGC WAESCHE seeks to purchase replacement washers and dryers to renew the failed and failing equipment onboard.





Scope: WAESCHE is seeking commercial grade washers and dryers that can withstand near constant use on a ship that deploys world-wide and experiences heavy seas. The six washers and six dryers need to be able to support over 150 people that deploy aboard approximately six months out of the year. Additionally, the washers and dryers need to be able to fit through non-tight and watertight doors on board the ship. Vendors are encouraged but not required to make a site visit to verify measurements. The narrowest door is approximately 24” wide. The preferred, but not required, make and models are: Speed Queen washer model# LFNE5BSP115TW01 and Speed Queen dryer model# LDEE5BGS173TW01.





Specifications for dryers. Dryers shall be:




  • Able to operate with 230 VAC supplied. The current model installed is capable of operating with 208-240 VAC, 60 Hz, 1-phase.

  • vented utilizing a standard sized dryer duct of 4”. Must be a heat-pump style, ventless dryers are not acceptable.

  • front load and at least 3.4 cubic feet capacity

  • compatible with washer, be designed to and readily mount on the top of the washer.

  • serviceable meaning parts can be replaced by a qualified service technician.





Specifications for washers. Washers shall:




  • operate with 110-120 VAC supplied.




  • accept standard hot and cold potable water connections that are garden hose thread. Utilize a standard drain hose.

  • front load and at least 7 cubic feet capacity

  • compatible with dryer as mentioned above for mounting.

  • serviceable meaning parts can be replaced by a qualified service technician.











The contractor shall:




  • Only provide the items outlined in the scope of work, the unit will not accept substitutions.

  • Not provide labor or services. Removal and installation will be completed by the ship’s crew.

  • Provide quantity of 6 washer and 6 dryers

  • With shipping costs included to the warehouse at

  • 1 Eagle Road, BLDG 42, ATTN: WAE, Alameda, CA 94501

  • Required Delivery Date: within five weeks of award of contract.
