The Parapet wall on the U.S. Embassy's main building’s front façade - a historic Baroque Revival building constructed in 1902-04 - is damaged and instable.
The intent of this project is to repair the parapet wall, roof cladding, windows and frames.
Scope of work: General Contractor for Construction work, Roofing work, Carpenter for Windows
This tender specification includes the following work
- Repair existing parapet tiebacks: Repair of tie-back/parapet connections, de-rusting and painting of tiebacks.
- Replacement of removed parapet tiebacks (without compromising façade waterproofing boundary)
- Replacement of wooden windows (replacement window frames will be of current industry standard materials; glazing will be double pane)
- Replace window metal flashing (material to match existing, and proper drip-edge to be included)
- Fix the gutter/downspout connection and any other observed gutter defects (cracked gutter seams…)
Estimated size of the project according to FAR 36-204: between $ 25,000 and $ 100,000.
