Description

The City of Greenville is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to provide services to develop an Urban Forest Comprehensive Plan. This plan will establish a clear, long-term vision for the care, growth, and equitable distribution of the city’s urban tree canopy, with a focus on strengthening environmental resilience, public health, and community quality of life.

The selected consultant will work closely with City staff, stakeholders, and the broader community to evaluate existing conditions, pinpoint key challenges and opportunities, and craft practical, forward-thinking strategies and policies. This collaborative planning effort will support a thriving, diverse, and sustainable urban forest.

A citywide perspective is essential to this work. The plan should outline achievable goals for tree maintenance and canopy expansion, recommend enhancements to current policies, ordinances, enforcement procedures and guidelines, provide funding recommendations that particularly strategies to maximize the use and long-term impact of designated tree protection funds and recommend public educational strategies.
