University of Calgary - Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement - Vertical Mill Machining Center
Description
Description
The University of Calgary (UCalgary) intends to purchase Super Mini Mill Vertical Machining Center from Thomas Skinner and Sons Limited, the sole distributor of Haas Automation Inc. Hass Mini Mills provide an economical solution for small parts machining in a compact package that is loaded with full-size features. The 40-taper spindle is ideal for finish work and cutting aluminum. The UCalgary Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machine shop within the Department of Mechanical Engineering currently exclusively uses HAAS CNC equipment. The department requires the same machine to replace the current Hass unit to ensure compatibility with existing software and infrastructure. This will also enable users to operate all machines in the shop using a single software platform, ensuring seamless integration into current workflows. It’s the department’s understanding that only HAAS Super Mini Mill Vertical Machining Center can meet their technical and operational
requirements.
