Summary

The City of Plant City, Florida is soliciting proposals from qualified firms with five (5) or more years of experience to furnish all materials, labor, supervision, transportation, inspections, permits, licenses, equipment, and all incidentals necessary to provide Underground Utility Location Services as an extension of the City staff and assist with locating and marking underground utility facilities. The successful Service Provider shall locate underground utilities at the request of City of Plant City in accordance and in compliance with Florida Statutes and Sunshine One-Call policies and procedures as they relate to the location of underground utilities. Primary services shall include but not be limited to physically locating underground infrastructure, verifying the location, ticket management, database storage and management, and line location services for the City water, wastewater, and reclaimed systems infrastructure.

Background

The City of Plant City is geographically located in the center of the west coast of Florida, approximately 25 miles east of Tampa, just west of Lakeland, and 70 miles west of Orlando. Plant City is located in northeast Hillsborough County, which is the fourth largest county in Florida. The City limits comprise 31 square miles, and include 42,141 residents as of the latest population estimate.

Plant City owns and operates its own water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems.

The approximate lengths of these utility systems are as follows:

  • Potable Water: 266.91 miles

  • Reclaimed Water: 45.91 miles

  • Gravity Sewer: 159.45 miles

  • Force Main: 55.30 miles
