Underground Conduit Installation

1. The City of Garden City Electric Department is soliciting bids for underground conduit installation for our Grid Resilience Grant Funding Project. Sealed bids must be returned by 11:00 AM, CT, Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Electric Utility Service Center, 140 Harvest St., PO Box 998, Garden City, KS 67846. At that time, the bids will be opened and publicly read. Bids received after this time will be returned unopened.

2. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check for 5% of the total bid. Bid security will be returned to all bidders when the contract has been executed with the successful bidder. The bid bond should be $75,000.

3. Statutory and Maintenance Bonds will not be required if the total project cost is less than $100,000.

4. No bidder may withdraw his bid for at least 30 days after the scheduled time for bid receipt.

5. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities. The City also reserves the right to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City.

6. The successful bidder will be required to have a contractor’s license with the City of Garden City Building Department and be in good standing.

7. The bidder will be Davis-Bacon Act compliant by using the necessary DOE training and LCPTracker.
