Summary
Overview
The Regents of the University of California, on behalf of its Davis campus’ Student Housing and Dining Services (SHDS)
would like to establish a multi-year Agreement with a qualified Concessionaire, for their campus Silo location. The
agreement would be exclusively between the Concessionaire and SHDS only. Any involvement between Concessionaire
and other campus units will be under a separate agreement and not connected to any resulting agreement from this
RFP.
SHDS invites your company to submit a proposal to provide this service.
RFP Schedule
Mandatory Online Technical Bid Review
Concessionaires are required to participate in the Online Technical Bid Conference. Online meeting information will be
sent to Concessionaires who both accept the Mandatory Guidelines in the online bid and intend to submit a proposal in
response to this RFP. Ensure that your company has a listed contact name, phone number, and email address within
CalUsource in order to receive the webinar information.
Mandatory Site Walkthrough
Concessionaires are required to attend a mandatory site walkthrough. Date and time will be provided at the Mandatory
Online Technical Bid Review.
Invite-Only Tasting
Concessionaires who are determined to meet the requirements of this RFP will be invited to provide a tasting of their
proposed menu offerings. This will be an invite-only and drop-off only appointment.
Questions
Questions can be submitted through the CalUsource System at any time during the RFP. SHDS does not guarantee
answers to questions that are submitted prior to or on the day that the bids are due.

Agreement Term
Any Agreement(s) resulting from this request will be established for a period of one (1) year with the option to renew for
consecutive one (1) year extensions, not to exceed 10 total agreement years. SHDS may elect to run an RFP after the
initial 1-year period and at anytime during the extension periods. Continuation of the Agreement during this RFP period
will be as mutually agreed upon. In the event that a mutual agreement cannot be reached, either party may give the
other party a thirty (30) day notice of intent to terminate the Agreement. During the thirty (30) day notice period, there
can be no changes in commission share and service levels in effect at the time, and Concessionaire shall honor any and
all service requests received prior to the completion of the thirty (30) day notice period.
SHDS reserves the right to reject all Proposals and to make no award. SHDS reserves the right to make multiple awards
or to award items separately or in the aggregate as the interests of SHDS may appear.
Evaluations
Proposals meeting mandatory requirements will be considered Responsive Proposals and will be reviewed by an
evaluation committee and scored against the stated Evaluation Categories. The committee may, at its sole discretion,
review references, request oral presentations, and/or conduct an on-site visit, and use the results in scoring the
proposals.
Responsive Proposals will be evaluated using the Best Value method.
Bids submitted under this RFP will be valid for ninety (90) days from the date that the bid closes. SHDS reserves the right
to reject all proposals and to make no award. SHDS reserves the right to make multiple awards or to award items
separately or in the aggregate as the interests of SHDS may appear.
