TRSF Blue Springs Tract Salvage Sale 2024 II

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This is a salvage harvest of slash and longleaf pine that suffered damage from Hurricane Helene on September 26, 2024. This contract consists of a primary damage area of approximately 1,510 acres where roughly 10% or less of timber was damaged. Within this area are substantial damage areas, totaling 540 acres, where average timber damage was 30% with patches of damage as high as 80%. The successful bidder should start in the areas designated as substantial damage areas before moving to areas designated as primary damage areas. The successful bidder will be expected to begin harvesting within 14 days of contract execution. There is no volume estimate for this sale. Products include salvage pine pulpwood, salvage pine chip-n-saw, and salvage pine sawtimber. All timber which is blown down, broken off, leaning more than 15 degrees, or otherwise damaged is available for harvest. Timber that does not meet this criterion may only be harvested by approval of the Forester-In-Charge. Sale boundaries will consist of roads, wetlands, forest boundaries, recreational sites, and any timber type changes or undamaged areas.
