Triple Stage Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer

Oregon State University intends to contract for the provision of a triple stage quadrupole mass spectrometer and compatible equipment from Thermo Fisher Scientific as a sole source because of the uniqueness (design, capability, nature) of the goods and the contractor being the single provider of the goods. The department needs a sensitive, robust, and reliable triple quadrupole mass spectrometer instrument coupled with an UHPLC instrument for separation and an additional detection capable of detection of non-chromophore containing agrochemical surfactants that also provides near universal quantitation capabilities while being compatible with the UHPLC system and triple quadrupole mass spectrometer instrument. Thermo Fisher Scientific is the only manufacturer and distributor of a Charged Aerosol Detector that integrates with the spectrometer and the software that operates all components. An entity may appeal this determination in accordance with OSU Standard 03-010. Section 5.17 no later than the closing date indicated on the website.
