Solicitation Description:

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Office of the Treasurer is seeking proposals to replace its existing Retail Point of Sale (POS) System to include both hardware, software and software support and maintenance which: 1) Adheres to stricter security standards 2) Has improved resiliency across locations 3) On the go or Mobile Point of Sales stations with a built-in printer 4) Full E-Commerce support options for card not present or out-of-state Bulk Sales customers 5) Small form factor/tablet Point of Sales registers 6) Accepts multiple payment methods, i.e. Apple Pay, Google Pay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Automated Clearing House/ACH, Purchase Order, and others. 7) Secured Cloud-based application and database system The POS System will be used to perform sales transactions, accept payment using cash, debit, credit, and modern payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay. The system will also be used to record and reconcile the sale and control of inventory of various fare media products as well as other products that WMATA may sell from time to time such as promotional and specialty items.
