The proposed project involves the construction of a new 4,134-square-foot, single-storey childcare facility on a currently undeveloped site in Crofton, BC. The development will accommodate up to 48 new childcare spaces and is designed to be simple, functional, and purpose-built for infant, toddler and preschool care. The facility will feature multiple open activity rooms, washrooms, a laundry room, a kitchen, and exterior covered areas to support daily operations. The site will also include a parking area and on-site storage, of the 2022 Cowichan Regional Child Care Plan, that included increasing coverage rates, creating new sites, improving accessibility and affordability, supporting childcare workers and providers, as well as improving the quality of childcare. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted.
