A mandatory Pre-Proposal meeting will be held for all contractors intending to submit for this project. The intent of the walk through will be to familiarize the contractor with the existing site conditions andallow for questions regarding scope, scoring process, pricing, etc.

2. INTRODUCTION

Request for Proposal for a two 400 meter track re-construction project.

Lawrence School District has contracted for design services and is bidding out construction services for replacement of the running tracks on both campuses. A Track Contractor will be hired and will be responsible for removing and building the tracks including but not limited to: demolition and disposal of the existing track, earthwork, grading, utilities, associated with the construction of 400 meter running tracks.

An alternate for a post-tension concrete tracks is being solicited.

Interior track curb removal is not anticipated, therefore temporary removal of the turf is not expected at either site. The turf is adhered to the top of the existing curb, therefore immediately adjacent to new asphalt and track surfacing. Care of the existing turf in place will be the responsibility of the Track Contractor.

Respondents should make NO CONTACT, either written or verbal, with the School Board, legal counsel, administrative and/or athletics staff, or other district personnel beginning with the issuance of this document through approval of School Board award.
